The Tarpon Springs Police Department Communications Division serves as the critical link between the community and emergency responders, providing professional and efficient dispatch services 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Staffed by highly trained civilian personnel, the division is responsible for coordinating all emergency and non-emergency calls for service, ensuring that officers and resources are deployed quickly and effectively when seconds matter.

Communications personnel possess an in-depth knowledge of the City of Tarpon Springs, including its geography, businesses, and residential communities. This familiarity allows dispatchers to rapidly assess situations and direct appropriate resources without delay. Upon joining the division, members undergo extensive training and are required to maintain proficiency across multiple systems, including telephone, radio, and video monitoring platforms.

Dispatchers play a vital role in public safety by gathering, prioritizing, and relaying critical information to officers in the field. While they often work behind the scenes with limited face-to-face interaction, they are frequently the first point of contact for citizens in need and serve as the voice of the agency during times of crisis.

Through professionalism, composure, and a commitment to excellence, the Communications Division ensures seamless coordination of emergency response and provides an essential service that supports both the department and the community it serves.
