Community based policing remains one of the most important
philosophies of the police department. We expect EVERY officer to participate
in our partnership with the community. We encourage officers to build positive
relationships with children, business owners, visitors and residents.
The salary range for patrol is currently $40,509.66-$64,297.18.
If an officer has prior law enforcement experience, the starting salary is
negotiable. The pension is a “Defined Benefit Plan” with the officers
contributing 8%. Officers are vested after 10 years of service (accrue 3% per
year).

The PASS educational requirement (60 college credits) may be
